Welcome to the Parks Recreation & Waterfront site at the City of Berkeley, CA.

Our goal is to provide quality parks, recreation and waterfront facilities.  The department is committed to administering excellent recreation programs at our community centers, camps, marina and parks; continuing to develop new programs that fulfill the City's 2020 Vision, maintaining our trees and municipal urban forest, landscaping and infrastructure; and developing Capital Projects with community input to improve and enhance resident's park and facility experience.

National Night Out Activities - The Young Adult Project (YAP) presents Stop the Violence Block Party on National Night Out, Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 3:00 - 7:00pm!  The City’s Recreation Division in partnership with McGee Ave. Baptist Church is hosting a Stop the Violence Block Party on McGee Avenue between Oregon and Stuart Streets.  Our message is to promote non-violence and encourage South Berkeley residents to unite as a supportive community and focus on youth and families in the neighborhood. This event allows Berkeley teens to address their concerns about violence through dance, music, and public performance. This program will feature live entertainment, information booths, games, arts and crafts, and food.

The Berkeley Marina in partnership with Skates Restaurant celebrates National Night out from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in Horseshoe Park. Music and refreshments will be provided while supplies last in an effort to bring the neighborhood together and promote a safe, cohesive, resilient community at the Waterfront.
