Missed Refuse or Plant Debris Pick-ups
Missed pickups must be reported no later than 5:00 p.m. the business day following the missed pick up* (Monday – Friday) either via the website or by calling (510) 981-7270. Missed pickups reported after that time will not be collected until the next regularly scheduled collection day.
* For example, if your regular pick-up day is Monday and your container is not emptied as of 2:30 p.m. on Monday, you must report a missed pick-up by 5:00 p.m. Tuesday. If your regular pick-up day is Friday, you must report a missed pick-up by 5:00 p.m. the following Monday.
Crews are in the field until 2:30 p.m. We cannot accept a report for a missed pick up until after 2:30 p.m. on your collection day. If your container was not emptied by 2:30 p.m., please report the missed pick via our website by clicking the link below or calling Customer Service at (510) 981-7270 Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
If you would like to report a missed pickup online, please fill out an Online Service Request Form. Please remember to include your address and which service was missed (refuse or plant debris).
Only commercial accounts may use the website to report missed pick up of recycling.
There is NO City of Berkeley Collection Service for Refuse, Recycling or Plant Debris on these Holidays:
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
- New Year's Day
Refuse, recycling and plant debris collection that is normally scheduled on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day will be collected on the next day of service. All other collections will take place on schedule, regardless of the Holiday.
