Provides legal information and help to low-income people in the following areas: Evictions, Housing Discrimination, Terminations, Disputes, Unsafe or unhealthy housing conditions, Lock-outs and utility shut-offs, and Tenants of foreclosed properties.

Repair and Deduct Project - a collaborative effort between The East Bay Community Law Center and Housing Rights, Inc.  The Repair and Deduct Self-Help Hotline helps tenants learn how to get repairs made to their apartment.  Call 800-806-8111 for more information. 

Housing Retention Program - Financial assistance is available for Berkeley residents who are behind on paying rent and face possible eviction. Renters can apply for one-time grants of up to $1,500 through the Housing Retention Program, which is administered by the City of Berkeley's Health, Housing and Community Services Department. Funding is limited and a submitted application does not guarantee a grant.
