1.        Roll Call:  4:00 P.M

2.        Comments from the Public:  A total of thirty (30) minutes is scheduled. Each speaker is limited to a maximum of three (3) minutes.  Comments during special meetings must address only items listed on the agenda.  If there are not thirty (30) minutes of public comment, the Council will proceed with the agenda. 

3.         City Council Priority Setting Budget Workshop

 4.          Consideration and Possible Council Action for Council Funding

a.  Funding Request for Ecumenical Chaplaincy to the Homeless (removed from the Consent Calendar by Councilmember Hawley on 2/27 and held over to March 6.

Recommendation: 
Refer to the City Manager the request for immediate funding of $25,000 for the Berkeley Ecumenical Chaplaincy to the Homeless.

b.   Budget Referral:  2001 Junior Wheelchair Games in Brisbane, Australia (removed from the Consent Calendar by Councilmember Breland on 2/27 and held over to March 6)

c.   Funding and Budget Referral:  Easy Does It Assistive Devices and Services

Allocate $5,000 to the non-profit, Easy Does It, for assistive devices and services to severely disabled people in Berkeley; and refer an additional $5,000 to the FY 2002-2003 budget process.

d.    Co-Sponsoring David Brower Day Public Events

Recommendation: 
Adopt a Resolution co-sponsoring public events with the Earth Island Institute and other environmental organizations in celebration of David Brower Day, July 1, 2001.

e.     Survey of Telecommunications Needs (removed from the Consent Calendar on 2/27 and held over to March 6)
From:  Task Force on Telecommunications
Recommendation: 
Adopt a Resolution authorizing the City Council to allocate $20,000 to obtain professional quality survey of telecommunication needs of businesses and related institutions (training sites and institutes, distance teaching programs, hospitals, etc.) in Berkeley to be used in the Master Plan for Telecommunications due to Council in June 2001.
