This meeting will be conducted in accordance with the Brown Act, Government Code Section 54953, Teleconferencing. 2. Taxi Permits for Wheelchair Accessible Taxis (PDF, 627 KB)

Recommendation: 1) Adopt first reading of an Ordinance adding Berkeley Municipal Code (BMC) Chapter 9.52 “Regulating Taxis and Vehicles for Hire”, defining “Accessible Taxicab” and amending Section 9.52.020 regarding categories of vehicles and the maximum number operated in each category; and 2) adopt a Resolution establishing permit fees, the maximum number of taxicab vehicles citywide for each category of vehicles for hire, the maximum number per taxicab business owner, the maximum rates charged per fare, and designating areas as joint use taxicab stands; and 3) rescinding Resolution No. 58,489–N.S. and all its amendments.
