and Action on Draft City Council Agenda for February 25, 2003
Action:
All items approved for placement on Council agenda unless
otherwise noted on the draft agenda summary.

and Action on Recommendations by Councilmember Hawley regarding
Criteria for reviewing items proposed for City Council Agenda (PDF*,

Action:
Considered as part of Mayor Bates draft proposals.

Discussion
and Action regarding Adoption of Rules Committee Procedures and
Amendments to Council Rules of Procedure
Action:
Mayor Bates handed out draft amendments to the Council Rules
of Procedure regarding the renaming of the Rules Committee to the
Agenda Review Committee, establishing an alternate to the Committee,
and incorporating changes to the agenda review process in response
to issues raised by Councilmember Spring.
Points raised by Councilmember Hawley appear to also be
addressed in Mayor Bates’ draft proposal.
Mayor Bates indicated he would submit these proposals for
Council consideration at the meeting of March 11, 2003.

meeting, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 61,968-N.S. changing the name of the Rules
Committee to the “Agenda Committee” to better reflect its duties.
