3. Approval of Minutes of Meeting of May 10, 2004 (PDF, 16 KB).

    

4. Review and Action on draft Work Session Agenda for May 25, 2004 (PDF, 15 KB).

   Action:  All items approved for placement on the agenda.

    

5. Review and Action on draft City Council Agenda for May 25, 2004.

   Action:  All items approved for placement on the agenda with the following additions, deletions or changes:

    

   Item 1    Presentation: Berkeley Rental Housing Market from a Student Perspective

   From: Councilmember Wozniak

   Recommendation:  Presentation of fifteen minutes by three student interns focusing on the status of the rental housing market in Berkeley.

   Contact: Gordon Wozniak, Councilmember District 8, 981-7180

   Action:  Moved to Work Session of May 25, 2004 by Mayor Bates.

    

   Item 15   Fee Waiver: Himalayan Fair

   From: Councilmembers Maio and Spring

   Recommendation:  Adopt a Resolution waiving fees for two 20-yard dumpsters for the Himalayan Fair.

   Financial Implications: $500-$1,000 per dumpster.

   Action:  Revisions presented by Councilmember Maio.

    

   The following additional item was submitted for placement on the Council agenda

    

   Contract: Hills Fire Station Stabilization

   From: City Manager

   Recommendation:  Adopt a Resolution: 1) approving plans and specifications for renovation of the Fire Station Hills Stabilization; 2) accepting the bid of Engineered Soil Repairs, Inc.; 3) waiving building inspection fees; 4) authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract and any amendments, extensions or change orders in an amount not to exceed $775,000.

   Financial Implications: Measure G Funds – $775,000.

   Action:  Approved for placement on the Agenda.

    

   Exempting Public Transit from ERAF Budget Shift

   From:  Councilmember Hawley

   Recommendation:  Send a letter to Governor Schwarzenegger urging the exemption of public transit, including AC Transit and BART, from the ERAF (Educational Revenue Augmentation Fund) shift proposed in the Governor’s budget proposal.

   Action:  Approve for placement on the Agenda.

    

6. Review and Action on draft City Council Agenda for June 1, 2004 (PDF, 17 KB).
