  1. Roll Call:              2:35 p.m.

    Present:                Councilmembers Maio and Wozniak and Mayor Bates

    Absent:                 None

     

  2. Public Comment:       Lennon Hamilton

     

  3. Approval of Minutes of the Meeting of November 6, 2006 (PDF, 25 KB).

    Action: Moved, seconded, carried (Maio/Wozniak) to approve minutes.

     

  4. Review and Action on Draft Redevelopment Agency Agenda for December 5, 2006 (PDF, 22 KB).
    Action: Moved, seconded, carried (Maio/Wozniak) to approve the agenda.

     

  5. Review and Action on Draft City Council Agenda for December 5, 2006.

    Action: Moved, seconded, carried  (Maio/Wozniak) to approve the agenda with the following additions, deletions or changes:

     

    a.      University of California’s Southeast Campus Integrated Project

    From: Councilmember Capitelli

    Recommendation: Request the City Manager develop a Request for Proposal (RFP) for hiring a consulting firm to assist the City: 1) in articulating and refining its concerns regarding deficiencies in the University of California’s SCIP Development Plan; and 2) in communicating those concerns with the larger UC community.

    Financial Implications: To be determined by the City Manager’s RFP.

    Contact: Laurie Capitelli, Councilmember District 5, 981-7150

    Action:  Held over to December 12, 2006 at the request of Mayor Bates.

     

    b.      Oxford Plaza and Brower Center

    From: City Manager

    Recommendation:

    Contact:  Stephen Barton, Housing, 981-5400

    Action: Held over to December 12, 2006 at the request of the City Manager.

     

    c.       Mayor’s Annual Holiday Party

    From: Mayor Bates

    Recommendation:  Adopt a Resolution authorizing the payment of $1,250 from the Mayor’s discretionary budget to pay for the costs associated with the Mayor’s annual Holiday Party on December 11, 2006 at La Pena.

    Financial Implications: General Fund - $1,250
    Contact:  Tom Bates, Mayor, 981-7100
    Action:  Added to the agenda at the request of Mayor Bates.

     
    d.      Telegraph Avenue Economic Development Assistance Plan

    From:  Councilmember Worthington and Mayor Bates

    Recommendation:  Refer to the mid-year budget process, the retention of funding passed through the Telegraph Avenue Economic Development Assistance Plan.

    Financial Implications: $200,000 - $250,000

    Contact: Kriss Worthington, Councilmember, District 7, 981-7170 and Tom Bates, Mayor, 981-7100
    Action:  Added to the agenda at the request of Councilmember Worthington.

     

  6. Review and Action on Scheduling of Calendar, Public Hearings, Presentations and Work Session topics.

    Action: Calendars reviewed.  Agenda Committee meeting of December 4, 2006 rescheduled to December 5, 2006 at 1:00 p.m.

**At its March 11, 2003 meeting, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 61,968-N.S. changing the name of the Rules Committee to the “Agenda Committee” to better reflect its duties.
