Annual Public Housing Management Assessment Program

Recommendation: Adopt a
Resolution authorizing the Executive Director to submit the required
annual Public Housing Management Assessment Program (PHMAP) report to the
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Fiscal Year
ending June 30, 1999.

Contract:
Landscape Maintenance for Rental Housing Units
From: Executive Officer
Recommendation: Adopt a
Resolution authorizing the Executive Officer to execute a contract and any
amendments with Honda Landscape and Maintenance, Inc. for landscape
maintenance services for 78 units of rental housing owned and/or managed
by the Berkeley Housing Authority (BHA) for an initial 9-month period with
an option to renew an additional 12-month period in an amount not to
exceed $25,000 per year; and authorizing the Executive Officer to amend
the payment provision as necessary to reflect any changes in the U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) mandated wage
determination.

Moved, seconded, carried (Olds/Payne) to adopt Resolution No. 605
and that the Executive Officer report back on moving the trash can area to
a better place; include other enhancements to improve the appearance; to
include in next year’s contract that landscaping contractors hire young
persons who live in the units for training; and that the tenant group be
reactivated.

Assistance Program Budget

Resolution approving the Comprehensive Improvement Assistance Program (CIAP)
budget submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
Department (HUD) for Federal Fiscal Year 1999.
