Housing Authority (BHA) is proposing adoption of the Agency’s
Annual Plan update for Fiscal Year 2001-2002.
The Plan outlines the BHA goals and objectives for Fiscal
Year 2002 for its Section 8 and Public Housing Programs.
Public housing authorities are required to adopt the
updated Plan as mandated by the U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development. The draft
Plan was published on October 12, 2001 which commenced a 45-day
public comment period. During
this time, the public has the opportunity to comment on the Plan
contents. Copies of the Plan are available for review during normal
business hours at the following locations: 1901 Fairview Street
(Berkeley Housing Authority), 2180 Milvia Street (Housing
Department), and 2121 Allston Way (Berkeley Central Library).
The draft
Plan was prepared with the assistance and input from the
Resident Advisory Board (RAB).
The fourteen members of the RAB were appointed by the BHA
Board and are comprised of the nine members of the Section 8
Resident Council and the five members of the Public Housing
Resident Council. Resident
Council members are Section 8 and Public Housing residents and
have been duly elected by a vote among resident peers.
The specific role of the RAB is to advise the BHA on the
development and update of the Agency’s Annual Plan update.
