Waiting Time or
Traffic Delay – from $20.00 to $24.00 per hour or from $0.20¢
to $0.24¢ for each 36 seconds
City of Berkeley tax fare rates have not increased in five years. Staff
verified that higher taxicab fare rates now exist in San Francisco,
Oakland, San Jose, Fremont, and Daly City.
(These are the only cities that set rates in the vicinity of
order to improve the quality of taxi service in Berkeley, additional
requirements have been imposed on taxi companies, which amount to more
fees. The City would like to show the taxi companies that we value their
service to the community and we do not wish to create financial
hardships with these improvements to the taxi program.
