June 15, 2004 Public Hearing:

  1. Fees For City Services/Programs

     

    The City Council will conduct Public Hearings on new and/or increases fees for the following services and/or programs.

     

    1. The Fire Department proposes an increase up to 54% in Fire Prevention Inspection Fees and Permit Fees to provide full cost recovery for fire inspection and permit services.

    2. The Fire Department proposes an increase averaging 11% in the Ambulance User Fees to match the Alameda County Board of Supervisors approved ambulance fee schedule.

    3. The Police Department proposes a $25 fee increase for more than one false burglar and holdup alarm reported to the Berkeley Police Department within a 90-day period.

    4. The Police Department proposes an increase from $10 to $20 to provide Confirmation, Good Conduct and Clearance Letters.

    5. The Police Department proposes an increase from $20 to $40 for fingerprinting of non-residents.

    6. The Police Department proposes an increase in the fee for towed vehicles under California Vehicle Code Sections 22651 O, P, I, K, J; 53675.61 from $75 to $100 and 22669 D; and for vehicles towed pursuant to California Vehicle Code 14602 from $75 to $150.

    7. The Parks Recreation and Waterfront Department proposes an increase in the Marina berth rates up to 15.5% and Nature Center fees up to 15%.

    8. The Citizens Humane Commission proposes an increase in dog/cat adoption and redemption fees as follows:
