Restaurant) Appeal of Landmarks Preservation Commission Designation as
Structure of Merit
Berkeley City Council will hold a public hearing on the above matter,
pursuant to Section 21.16.050 of the BERKELEY SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE
(5793-N.S.), on: Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at the
City Council Chambers, 2134 Martin Luther King Jr. Way,
meeting begins at 7:00 p.m.
On March 7, 2005, Daniel M. Deibel from Urban Housing Group, an
authorized representative of the property owners, Stephen and Dale
Block, filed an appeal requesting that the City Council overturn the
February 7, 2005, Landmarks Preservation Commission decision to
designate 2040 Fourth Street (aka 720 University Avenue/Irwin Paint
Company/ Boyscout Headquarters/Celiasís Restaurant) as a City of
Berkeley Structure of Merit.
