PUBLIC INFORMATION

The packet for this (and future) Design Review Committee meeting is available for review at the Berkeley Library main branch at 2090 Kittredge Street.

To request a meeting agenda in large print, Braille, or on cassette, or to request a sign interpreter for the meeting, call the city clerk's office at 981-6900 (voice) or 981-6903 (ttd): at least five (5) working days prior to the meeting in order to ensure availability.

The time limit within which to commence any lawsuit or legal challenge related to the applications is governed by section 1094.6 of the code of civil procedure, unless a shorter limitations period is specified by any other provision. Under section 1094.6, any lawsuit or legal challenge to any quasi-adjudicative decision made by the city must be filed no later than the 90th day following the date on which such decision becomes final. Any lawsuit or legal challenge which is not filed within that 90-day period will be barred.

Please refrain from wearing scented products to public meetings.

II.                PUBLIC COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS

The applicant and or their designee will have five to ten minutes to make a presentation of their project to the Committee. The public is also invited to make a public comment if they wish. To do so, you should fill out a speaker card before the meeting starts and give it to the Secretary of the Committee. Please be advised that the Committee may limit the number of speakers and the length of time allowed to each speaker (three minutes is the usual amount of time allowed). III.             RE-ARRANGEMENT OF AGENDA ORDER

Due to the large volume of projects, and the limited amount of time available to hear each project, the Design Review Committee has the right to re-arrange the order of the agenda in order to accommodate the projects that will not require a lot of time.

 

 

The next Design Review Committee meeting will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2004.

IV.              PROJECT

1.      1100 - 1110 TENTH STREET (DR#04-30000045): Final Design Review to construct a 23,766 square foot industrial building (warehouse), in a two-story structure with an average height of 38 feet, on a 27,756 square foot lot.  A total of 17 parking spaces are proposed. For Committee decision.

2.      1719 UNIVERSITY AVENUE (DR#00-30000104): Modification (colors only) of mixed-use, new construction, including commercial and residential uses, with approximately 4,500 sq. ft. of retail space and 27 dwelling units, community room and courtyard. Three stories of residential will be built over the commercial/garage ground floor. For Committee decision.

3.      1122 UNIVERSITY AVENUE (DR#03-30000097): Continued Preliminary Design Review of a 5-story mixed-use building with 65 residential units, 4 live/work units and commercial space.  A total of 74 parking spaces are proposed. For Committee decision.

4.      1406 SAN PABLO AVENUE (DR#04-30000005): Continued Preliminary Design Review to demolish an existing dwelling and construct a 3-story building with 4 dwelling units, 4 live/work units, 10,736 square feet of gross floor area, average height of 33 feet and 10 parking spaces on a 9,030 square foot lot. For majority recommendations.

5.      800 DWIGHT WAY (DR#04-30000043): Preliminary Design Review for new construction of a production building located on the Bayer Healthcare, LLC Main Campus. For majority recommendations.

6.      2701 SHATTUCK AVENUE (DR#04-30000008): Preliminary Design Review of a 29 dwelling unit, mixed-use building with 41,765 square feet of total floor area and 32 parking spaces. For majority recommendations.
