Citizens Humane Commission

Mission:

Oversees the treatment of animals in all shelters established within Berkeley. Advises the council on the care, treatment and control of animals.  No commissioner shall be employed by, or have any interest in, any profit-making animal facility, research center, or any profit-making organization that deals in the sale of animals for any purpose.  Council shall appoint one of its members as liaison.
