Berkeley,
California (Monday, May 1, 2006) - The
City of Berkeley is spearheading a door-to-door "Get
Ready, Berkeley" campaign on Saturday, May 6 to inform
residents about disaster preparedness. The City urges
families to take the information seriously and do their part to make
homes and neighborhoods safer.

Saturday, May 6, 10:00 AM
Hundreds
of volunteers will deliver door hangers with safety
information and lifesaving tips to tens of thousands of families in
Berkeley. Volunteers
will leave the Frances Albrier Center shortly after 10:00 AM. Many
will return to the Center around 12:30 PM for lunch and remarks by
City leaders.
