COUNCIL DISTRICT 8 RUNOFF ELECTION

Berkeley, California (Monday, November 25, 2002) – Persons residing in and registered to vote in Council District 8 in the City of Berkeley are eligible to vote in the Runoff Election between Andy Katz and Gordon Wozniak.  The Runoff Election ends on Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at 8:00 p.m.

This election is being conducted by mail.  All District 8 registered voters should have received their mail ballot by November 20th.  If a voter has not received his ballot, he may either call the City Clerk at 981-6900 and request a ballot be mailed to the voter, or the voter may come to City Hall and vote.

The City Clerk Department is open for voting Monday through Wednesday, November 25 through 27, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, November 29 and 30, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Monday, December 2, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, December 3, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.  The Office is closed Thanksgiving Day and Sundays.

Ballots must be received no later than 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 3rd, either by mail or in person.  Postmarks will NOT be accepted.
