ROBBERY -- A man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a scarf pulled over his face robbed one of the owners of Brennan’s restaurant at 720 University Ave. at gunpoint as he was closing up for the night around 9:40 p.m. The owner told police he was met by somebody waiting in the back office, who put a gun to his neck. The robber fled on foot towards Aquatic Park.

Wednesday, Feb. 1
? BURGLARY -- A contractor reported a computer, tools and other equipment stolen from a construction site in the area of Shattuck and Lincoln avenues at 7:24 a.m.

Thursday, Feb. 2
? KNIFE ASSAULT -- During an argument between two children in the area of Oregon Street and McGee Avenue around 5:30 p.m., one stabbed the other in the head with a pocket knife, causing minor injuries. The children were 10 to 12 years old.

Saturday, Feb. 4
? AUTO BURGLARY -- A woman returned to her car, parked in the area of Solano Avenue and The Alameda around 5 p.m., and found the window smashed and her purse stolen.
? BURGLARY -- A man wearing a black trench coat barged into a home in the area of Ellsworth and Oregon streets through an unlocked door around 11 p.m., grabbed a laptop computer, and ran back outside. A surprised resident threw a glass of water on the intruder, who was gone when police arrived to investigate.

Sunday, Feb. 5
? ROBBERY -- A San Francisco resident reported to police that a man wielding a knife robbed him in the area of Gilman Street and San Pablo Avenue around midnight.
? GUNSHOTS -- Police responded to reports of multiple gunshots as a party at Roundtree’s Restaurant and Bar was ending around 1:30 a.m., and recovered several shell casings in front of the business, in the 2600 block of San Pablo Avenue. No injuries were reported in the incident.
? SHOOTING -- A woman was injured after her home in the area of Ward and Park streets was shot up around 3:30 a.m. The 59-year-old woman was treated for cuts on her hand and shoulder at Highland Hospital. Police were unsure whether the cuts were caused by bullet fragments or flying debris. About 30 gunshots were reported.
? BURGLARY -- A resident in the area of Benvenue Avenue and Dwight Way returned home around 10:40 a.m. to find two laptop computers, an iPod, stereo and other items stolen from inside her unlocked house.
? BURGLARY -- A man reported around 12:30 p.m. that food was stolen and a lock cut on a food storage container at a Baptist Church in the area of Stuart and California streets.
? BURGLARY -- A woman reported a skill saw and hatchet missing from her home in the area of Blake and Grant streets around 5 p.m.

Monday, Feb. 6
? STOLEN CAR -- After finding a fence damaged at U-Haul in the 2100 block of San Pablo Avenue, police stopped a U-haul truck leaving the area and arrested a 39-year-old man suspected of stealing it.
? BRIBERY -- A city employee from the planning and development division reported around 2:30 p.m. that someone tried to bribe him at city offices in the area of San Pablo and University avenues.
? DRUG ARREST -- Police arrested a 47-year-old man on the Bancroft Steps near Prospect Street on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia after a resident reported suspicious activity around 8:40 p.m. |
