Speak to Children about Safety

Today children from the Shelton School were treated to a show and tell by members of the Berkeley Police Department.  Officers from the Traffic, Detective, and Community Service Units went to  3339 Martin Luther King Jr. Way where they spoke to students about safety.  The children ranging from preschool to 5^th grade  were given a close up view of 2 police cars and a police motorcycle.  The 100 children were then allowed to get in the cars, push buttons and ask officers questions.  This annual event is one of the many aspects of BPD’s community outreach approach.
